The room that we use is the Quondarie Room. The easier entry is the outside door left most from the main entrance. On request, we have changed our Noggins day to the second Tuesday of the month again.

Join us for a fun-filled morning at the state of the art BMW xDrive Park at Waterfall in Midrand for a combined skidpan and xDrive day. The BMW Car Club Gauteng will be hosting an event at the exemplary BMW xDrive Park. Entries are limited and a maximum of 40 participants can be accomodated. The day will be split into the two events – 20 participants in their own vehicles will complete the waterless skidpan for six runs (3 mirrored) with the best 5 times to count. The other 20 participants will be accompanied by a BMW Driving Experience instructor to drive BMW’s new BMW X3s on the xDrive track to showcase the vehicle’s offroad capabilities. Half way through the event, the participants will swop so that everyone gets to compete in both the skidpan and the xDrive experience. Entry fee is R350 per person for members and R550 for non-members.  Booking and payment secures your spot.  (The club member discount code will be sent in the club emailer invite – check your spam folder – add tickets to cart and click checkout and add the discount code there),

Spectators can attend free of charge  but will not be able to join in the off road drive. Parking is not available at the skidpan, however there is adequate parking 2 minutes away in the main car park at the xDrive offices. There is also no cover at the skidpan, so bring your umbrellas or apply your sunscreen. You can bring your own refreshments for the day, and there will be refreshments for sale at xDrive Park (cards only no cash)

Ecology Breakfast Ride, Bot River … Sunday, 15 October 2023 – 08:00 am

Join us for an all-tar breakfast ride to Ecology Lifestyle Farm in Botriver.
As you can imagine we will be taking the scenic route from inland to the coast, covering about 300 km for the morning of some beautiful landscape inland and then with the Clarence Drive views for dessert.

Meeting Point: Caltex, Okavango Road, Uitzicht. 08:00 for 08:30 departure 

Direction to start:

Go Down Okovango Road past Makro and Cape Gate Medi Clinic and the Caltex Garage will be on your left 4km from Cape Gate Medi Clinic as you ride in the direction of Malmesbury.

Breakfast will be at the Ecology Lifestyle farm, which has a very mouthwatering menu, if you have only ever seen the signboard from the side of the road then this is your chance to actually stop there!

It now provides a platform to showcase our single vineyard, single varietal handcrafted boutique wines, the indigenous Proteas and Fynbos plants that we cultivate, as well as other farm-fresh produce.

Ecology also offers a fully licensed restaurant and events venue, set amongst wildlife and fynbos. This idyllic location is perfect for weddings, day conferences and other functions and the farm to table menu is worth exploring.

The farm is also family-friendly, with a bustling farmyard where children of all ages can interact with our animals at the end of the lawn, next to a beautiful play area.

With roadhouses popping up all over, we will make a point of visiting as many as we can, and typically on nights / dates that coincide with, or are as close as possible to, the full moon!

Join us for a fun route, the usual great company, and hopefully some good old roadhouse grub!

Not sure who will be arranging this edition… but we will let you know in advance, not that it matters – it’s guaranteed to be lekker!

BMWMCC OFF-ROAD TRAINING DAYS: LEVELS 1, 2 & PILLION

The Level 1, 2 and pillion Off Road training is as per BMW standards.

We prefer and recommend riders to do Level 1 first and then move to Level 2. This way we know they have learned the basics. We recommend riders with a new bike do a refresher of Level 1 or 2 depending on their riding abilities as each bike has its own bonding space and dynamics.
Only one level can be completed on a particular day, secondly it builds your confidence to allow time between training days.
What we will cover Off-road training day?
-Theory of rider gear, safety, rider position, bike set-up, dynamics of the BMW bike, including tyre pressures, etc
– Level 1: Explaining and adjusting the motorcycle, ABS de-activation, rider position, Off-road steering, cone riding, balancing, picking up the bike, leading the bike, slow riding, braking
– Level 2: Bike set-up, tyre pressures, rider position, cone riding, body position, off-camber riding and steering, stopping and pulling away against an incline, uphill & downhill riding, sharp turns, high speed braking on gravel, bike recovery and if the group’s progress is quick enough and all seems competent: sand riding, technical ride up a jeep track, gymkhana, sand and trail riding, etc.
Remember our rules still apply: you only do what you feel comfortable with. Come and have fun on that GS and challenge yourself. We also cater for other brands. Feel free to invite your friend/s .

Costs:

Both Level 1 & 2 will be R600.00 per club member rider and R700.00 per non-club member riders.
Pillion/Rider training: R875.00 per couple club member and R975.00 per non-club member couples.
